Widely regarded as one of the most influential horror films ever made, Dead of Night blends psychological suspense, dark humour and supernatural terror with timeless style and atmosphere. Featuring the legendary ventriloquist dummy Hugo, the film continues to unsettle audiences more than 80 years after its original release. Whether you’re discovering it for the first time or returning to a beloved classic, this special screening is a rare chance to experience one of Britain’s greatest horror films as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen.
This screening is part of the Fourth Annual Bognor Regis Puppet Party, building on the success of our screenings of cult favourites The Punch and Judy Man (1963), Labyrinth (1986) and Little Shop of Horrors (1986).
As part of this special screening, the event will be introduced by top ventriloquist and historian Austin Phillips, alongside the legendary Hugo.
